If you have been dehydrated for a long period of time, your electrolytes are out of balance. This can occur because you haven’t had access to water or because you have been sick. Whatever the case may be, you need to get your electrolytes back in balance before you get gravely ill. Fortunately, you can do that without hauling a carton of Gatorade around. You can make your own electrolyte replenishing drink.
What You Need
Start with a liter of water. Add in 2 tablespoons of sugar, a quarter of a teaspoon of baking soda and a quarter of a teaspoon of salt. Mix it up and then drink it in its entirety. Your electrolytes will be replenished and you will feel much better.
Dehydration and electrolyte imbalances are serious issues. Take care of the problem immediately by drinking this mixture. Be sure to add these supplies to your bug out bag as well so you will be prepared on the road.
