• Should You Run in a Zig Zag Pattern

You have probably heard people talk about running in a zig zag pattern if someone is trying to shoot them. The question is, is it effective?

The answer is, “Yes and no.”

Studies have shown that running in a zig zag pattern does not make people less likely to get shot. However, running in the pattern does make it harder for shooters to hit people in the head.

The key is to run in a way that you are most comfortable. If you are really fast, consider sprinting straight ahead. If you are slower, go in a zig zag, as long as your body can support it. If you are overweight or have bad knees, you could get hurt running in a zig zag pattern. If that is the case, consider crouching down while running.

Regardless of how you choose to run away, find a place to hide as soon as you can. The faster you get out of the line of fire, the better your chances of survival will be.
